25th Annual Pharaoh's Ball

On January 20, 2018, we, the brothers of the “Mighty” Psi Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., held our 25th Annual Pharaoh’s Ball, in conjunction with our 12th Annual Miss Black and Gold Scholarship Pageant. This wonderful night was aimed to commemorate the academic excellence and service within our community, which our chapter holds highly.

These aims were put on display not just through the individuals in the audience, but through our three Miss Black and Gold contestants. Kendra Williams, Miss Black, spoke heavily about her experience growing up in predominately white institutions and how that can have an impact on women of color. Kiana Porter, Miss Gold, demonstrated how the presence of a mentor can do wonders for a person, not just mentally, but socially as well. Lastly, Gia Beaton, our Miss Black and Gold, put on an astonishing performance on the evolution and power of black women with a heart-breaking spoken word.

We would like to congratulate all of the winners in this year’s Miss Black and Gold Pageant for making the night one to remember.
